The Backup Suite software

Linux at home

Who uses Linux at home? How do you get along with Linux? Which tools are you using?

The aim of this site is to promote the use for Linux at home by sharing information about it on this site. As a starting point my own use for Linux at home. Which questions do I have and how do I find the answers or do I create the answer. To share this information I use this website as a possible help for other Linux users. As well for the people who are curious for Linux

Where from........

I am using Linux for about 12 years now. I started with Linux out of curiosity. Not wanting to buy expensive software for experimenting in software development but also legally share the developed software. I learned about open source and the strength of sharing source code in order to make your software better or adjust it to your likings.

Backup Suite 1.0.3

Back-up with the Back-up suite........

What if your computer crashes or your hard drive gets erased? Do you have a back-up to restore from?

The first contribution for sharing is my own developed backup software. Many different kinds of backup software are available now a days, so why new software. This software is ( in my opinion ) easy to use and understand. Also flexible for your specific use at home and has a extensive logging to make sure your back-up is OK. How to set up a backup system and making the right choices is explained in the white paper “How 2 back-up @ home”. In conjunction with the back-up suite 1.0.3 it will give you tools to protect your data through backup. The white paper discusses the concept of back-up and in which flexible way you can use it in your own specific situation. The white paper is also a manual for the backup Suite software which are three scripts.

As from today, April 19., a new release Backup Suite ( version 1.0.3) and white paper (version 1.5) can be downloaded from this site.
